Divine Directions Served with a Side of Fries
After the first few days on the road, everything started to feel real. The adrenaline of starting the journey was fading, and a new set of questions began to show up:
What’s next? Where do we go from here? Are we doing this right?
We had built over many years, prayed and planned, and now we were living it. But even when you’re walking by faith, there are moments when you pause and say, “Okay, God… what now?”
RV Life and Dad Life Collide
As a dad, I’ve always tried to be the steady one—the safe place for my wife and kids. But I kept asking myself, what would it have felt like to be Noah?
Imagine building a boat for something no one had seen before. Then trying to explain to your family that a massive storm was coming… and not knowing how long it would last. That’s kind of how I felt sitting in the RV, wondering what was coming next after we gave everything up.
I had faith to start this journey.
But now I needed hope to keep walking it out.
I then realized that I was no longer my Family safe place; it was God that was in control.
When You’re Not Sure Where to Go… Chick-fil-A
So what do you do when you’re not sure where to go next?
You stop for Chick-fil-A.

We pulled in just to breathe a little, clear our heads, and have some good food. And that’s when God showed up—again.
As we got back into the RV, we crossed paths with a friendly police officer. We thanked her for serving and started a casual conversation that quickly turned into something deeper. She shared that her church was passionate about missions, and we shared what we were doing and gave her one of our “Don’t Miss the Boat” wristbands.
And just like that, we knew: this wasn’t just lunch.
It was confirmation.
A fresh reminder that we were right where God wanted us to be.
No GPS, Just Faith
We still didn’t have a solid plan after that moment. Just a sense of peace and a nudge to keep moving. We visited a church nearby and heard more about missions—which spoke directly to our hearts.
We didn’t walk away with a five-step itinerary.
But we left with this:
You are the light of the World Mathew 5:14
And that was enough.
So we prayed, packed up, and got back on the road—heading toward South Carolina. 524 miles from what used to be our “home.”
But honestly, home isn’t a zip code anymore.
It’s wherever God leads us.
We didn’t expect a meal stop to turn into a moment of divine direction. But that’s what makes this journey so beautiful—God keeps showing up in the everyday stuff.
So if you're reading this wondering what’s next in your own life… don’t underestimate the small moments. Sometimes your assignment shows up in the most unexpected places—even in a Chick-fil-A parking lot.
