First Miles… and No Idea Where to Go
We’re still in Florida—and honestly, it still feels like Florida. Our current stop? Auburndale. Quiet, peaceful, and full of nature… and yes, the only real concern at the moment is making sure no curious alligators decide to check out the Ark!
Now here’s the thing—RVs aren’t exactly a “Latino thing.” We’ve seen it in movies, sure. But now? This is our actual life. So where do we even start?
From Practice Runs to Real Life
Before hitting the road, we had done a couple of “drills” to get used to RV life—and let me tell you, even those felt like a lot. But now? This is no dress rehearsal. This is real life. Real hookups. Real campground neighbors. Real everything.
And here’s the truth I’ve come to believe:
Some things in life only become real after you jump in.
Faith is one of those things.
You don’t always see the whole picture. You just trust that as you move, God moves with you. I had no backup plan—just faith. And sometimes that’s all you need.
Our New Neighborhood on Wheels
We took a walk around the campground, curious to see how other people lived in their RVs. And that’s when it hit us—this is not a vacation for them. This is their home. Just like this is now ours.
We’ve sold our house. There’s no “going back.” We’ve burned the ships. This is it.
A few hours in, Dad decided he was going to cook something. Funny thing is, just a few days earlier, we returned a huge grill we thought would be a disaster on the road. So we were grill-less, with only what the park had available—which, honestly, was already a blessing.
But then… God showed up again.
The Taste of Kindness
Not long after, our next-door neighbors showed up—with a full dinner. And I mean full. There was meat, more meat, sides, and even ice cream for the kids. It felt like Thanksgiving. We were overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity.
You can follow them on Instagram: @a_couple_rvtravelers. Seriously, give them a follow. They’re the real deal.
It was another reminder that when you walk in obedience, God provides—often in ways you never expect.
Meals That Change Lives
These days, it’s easy to forget how much impact something as simple as a meal can have. We’re living in a time where we’ve grown distant from our neighbors, forgetting the beauty of connection and community.
But that dinner? It was more than food. It was a preview of what’s to come—moments along the road where we’ll sit down with strangers, break bread, and have eternal conversations that change lives.
Leaving the Sunshine State
As we prepare to move on to our next destination, Florida will always hold a special place in our hearts. It’s where we received the call. It’s where the journey began.
And a fun little side note: While the Bible says Noah built the Ark out of “gopher wood,” no one really knows what that is. Some think it could be Florida Torreya—also known as “gopher wood”—but there's no solid evidence. Still, how fitting that we’re starting this journey in the only state where that tree grows.
